After a few questionable projects, Kickstarter renewed its policy in September, tightening its requirements, especially for design and technology projects. This has affected the startup community and as a result, rejected entrepreneurs are finding alternative crowdfunding platforms like Indiegogo, while others have even created their own independent, open source project-financing web interfaces.
