Purdue University Gets $6 Million to Develop Vine-Pruning Robot

Researchers at Purdue University (Indiana, USA) have been given $6 million in funding to develop robotic technology that can help prune vineyards and apple orchards. The project has received $3 million from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and another $3 million in matching funds. Its first task is to upgrade the prototype of an automated grapevine pruner invented by a company in California.
